In my executive coaching, I frequently use the metaphor of someone having their “hair on fire” to describe a leader being visibly super-stressed.
Well, yesterday I got to witness it first hand in a non-metaphorical sense. Yes, for real! Get this: my husband and I are in LA on business. His back was bothering him, and [...]

So…..You’re working around the clock. Even when you’re not working, your mind is on your upcoming meeting with the board of directors, how to get revenues up, expenses down, getting employees more engaged and more productive, what to outsource and what to keep in house, how to pull morale up for your sales staff, and [...]

Wondering why your tream isn’t as creative and innovative as you have asked/empowered them to be? Check the attitude in the trenches. Recent brain research shows that change is interpreted as physical pain. Some people have a higher tolerance for change (pain) than others. The problem is, if you are making a lot of changes [...]

Last Sunday my husband and I were driving up to Torrance CA from my place in La Jolla. We got talking and he missed the turnoff. Since we were still on I-5, on a whim, we decided to continue on up and visit Bob Schuler’s church, the Crystal Cathedral. I had never been there before, and [...]

I was facilitating a MasterMind Group this morning and likened our experience together to a workout in the gym. That is the whole concept behind the name of my tag line since the beginning, as most of you know.
Whenever I go somewhere with a name tag on and people don’t know me yet, they say [...]

I grew up in a ballet studio. Many dancers suffer from ”hyperextension”, which most often happens in the knees, but occurs in the feet and other body places as well. Hyperextension can affect a dancer’s performance negatively. Uncompensated and uncorrected, it will eventually cause injury, not to mention how bad it looks uncorrected on stage!
It is the same [...]
