BREAD FOR THE HEAD
Books you read
Magazines you read
TV shows you watch
Movies and plays you go to
Lectures, classes, sermons, Webinars or Seminars you attend
CDs/I-Tunes you listen to
Radio/podcasts you play
Conversations you overhear
Events you see happening on the street, at work, or anywhere, real or virtual
Telephone conversations
Art you look at
The environment around you that your subconcsious
Anything you see and/or hear on the Internet
Conversations you have with yourself
Things you witness during your commute
Emails, YouTube, MySpaceTV, jokes from your workmates
Basically any sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and feelings you take in, ad infinitum. It all goes into your brain.
Okay, okay, you get it. So here’s the question: What KIND of bread is your head eating? White bread devoid of nutrition, healthy sprouted wholegrain bread, jelly-filled glazed donut, matza, challah, swirled whole grain rye, scone, crumpet, quinoa and black bean crackers, pretzel, pumpkin bread, English muffin, spelt, buckwheat pancake?
No wrongs or rights here (but PUT DOWN THAT DARN DONUT NOW!)….no judgement on any kind of bread, there’s a time and a place for many different choices.
My request for you today is: no matter what KIND of bread you choose throughout the day, choose intentionally. Don’t just eat what someone puts in front of you. What you put in your brain is YOUR responsiblity, just as what you put in your belly: what you put in it today will determine your results tomorrow. If we work as hard on developing our professional mind as professional athletes do on developing their bodies, think how great that would be! If you were known as "The Tiger Woods of (whatever your job is)", how cool would that be?
Bon Appetit!

For a long period, Tiger Woods was just one of my heroes. He epitomized fineness. Okay, I’m not fantastic, however, if a heroic public figure is found to be so ruined, it takes the hero out of heroism. All of one has left is “-ism” — idiot, brainless, moron. Is he an awesome golfer? Without a doubt he’s. In all likelihood he will always be deemed one of the best of them all.
